Tax Policy in the Build Back Better Act
Policymakers are currently drafting reconciliation legislation to enact up to $3.5 trillion of spending and tax breaks, paid for in part by taxes on high-income households and corporations, along with measures to strengthen tax compliance
The current House version of the Build Back Better Act includes nearly $2.3 trillion of revenue increases along with $1.3 trillion in tax breaks. Additions, reductions, and modifications are expected as the legislation works its way through the House and Senate.
